Our First Blog Post! - Julie's Class Experience

When I first walked into the Sewing Machine Center, I did not know anything about sewing. I went to learn a new hobby not realizing I would later become a part of the family. My first experience was attending one of the monthly sewing classes the Sewing Machine Center hosts.  I loved it so much, I continued signing up for more. Each small project used different techniques I never would have learned on my own. One thing I did not realize when I began working on my own projects is that I would use what I learned from the classes to create it—even if I did not retain, nor understand, it at the time! The methods began to flow more easily the more I learned. I also met a lot of great people who were always willing to help!

I have been working at the Sewing Machine Center for three years now. The sewing classes changed my life, and I am happy with this now-familiar hobby. I am willing to try almost any project, and I am a lot less afraid than I used to be when I first started coming here. The variety of classes really helped me pick up so much! In the midst of a class, sometimes I didn’t know exactly what I was learning. When I was done, however, I would realize I learned a new skill that carried over to other projects, as well. I am 100% a believer that the classes we offer can help you learn new skills or master the ones you already know! These classes are always so much fun for everyone involved! Each class is taught by an instructor who is willing to help you create the project to your liking!
